As part of a cleaning team, you will be using chemicals daily for a variety of tasks. Chemical safety is about being mindful in any activity that involves chemicals so that you can ensure safety for yourself, your colleagues, your guests, and the environment.

In the Chemical safety awareness course, Diversey will teach you how to read product labels, Material Safety Data Sheets, and Product Sales Sheets. You'll also learn the different types of Dangerous Goods Symbols, Personal Protective Equipment, and the importance of all these documents and guidelines.

  • Understand and follow the use of Product Sales Sheets
  • Understand and follow the use of Wall Chart
  • Explain the purpose and contents of Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Locate the Diversey SDS (Safety Data Sheet)
  • Identify the seven parts of SDS as an end-user
  • Identify PPE for using chemicals
  • Demonstrate ways to assess and manage the hazards associated with chemicals
  • Follow three chemical safety rules

By watching all the lessons and receiving a pass mark of 80% or more on the quiz, the earner of this credential will show an understanding of how to read product labels, Material Safety Data Sheets, and Product Sales Sheets, the different types of Dangerous Goods Symbols, how to use Personal Protective Equipment, and the importance of all these documents and guidelines.
